白金 Employment Pass (EP) is a work permit that allows qualified expatriates to work legally for a specific company in Malaysia. The EP is tied to the employment contract and may be granted for a period of up to 60 months, depending on the role and subject to approval from the Expatriate Committee (EC) or other relevant authorities. Approval must be obtained before the Immigration Department of Malaysia can issue the pass.

Before Applying

The employing company must first be assessed and confirmed as eligible to hire expatriates under the Employment Pass category. This includes meeting regulatory requirements and having an active registration with the relevant authorities.

Validity & Conditions

• EP validity: up to 60 months, based on the employment contract and EC discretion
• Pass is valid only in Peninsular Malaysia
• The expatriate may only work for the company named in the pass
• A new application is required if the expatriate changes employer

Eligible Dependants & Other Passes

Employment Pass holders earning minimum RM5,000 monthly salary may apply for dependant-related passes for their family.
